My Therapy Approaches

Cognitive Behavioural therapy:

CBT is shown in research to be a highly effective method of dealing with depression, anxiety, OCD, low self esteem and many other difficulties such as eating disorders and Post Traumatic Stress Disorder. This therapy focuses on how I interpret and react to the events and daily interactions were are exposed to. Therapy seeks to have a more curious approach to our ideas about ourselves, others and the world and challenged deeply entrenched beliefs in these areas.

Schema Focused Therapy:

I am one of very few Schema Focused Therapists accredited with the International Society of Schema Therapy (ISST). This therapy approach is for clients with longer term problems which can often be founded in difficult childhood relationships or experiences. During this therapy unmet childhood needs are explored and through a variety of methods are repaired within the therapeutic relationship. Schema Therapy can be effective with personality based presentations and longer term depression and anxiety problems.
